How to Help the Tornado Victims

I've been watching the devastation unfold in the South and I can't imagine the pain of those who have lost their homes and family members. So, I wanted to put together a post of how people can donate to help the tornado victims and the recovery efforts. I've found two different and great options:

Shopping for Charity:

1. Ceramic Soap Dish $16 HERE -- 50% goes to the Red Cross
2. Satin Flower Hair Pin $5 HERE --100% goes to the Red Cross
3. Dinosaur Bib and Burp Cloth $7 HERE -- 100% goes to the Red Cross
4. 3 Embroidered Cards $18 HERE -- $5 goes to the Red Cross
5. Original Painting $59.95 HERE -- 30% goes to the Red Cross
6. 4 Ceramic Coasters $24 HERE -- 50% goes to the Red Cross

Donate Money:
  • Red Cross: Text 'RedCross' to 90999 to donate $10 or donate online here. You can select from a few options, including where the $$ is most needed, natural disasters, or Japan.
  • Feed the Children: Donate here. $50 helps deliver 375 pounds of relief supplies to tornado victims.
  • Salvation Army: Text 'Give' to 80888 to donate $10 or donate online here. Salvation Army allows you to specify where your money goes.
  • Alabama's Governor's Relief Fund: Donate by credit card or check here. You can select from a variety of options... $34 buys 100 meals for victims and $40 buys medical supplies.

Also, if you live closer to the South, you can donate actual items -- food, health and beauty, etc. to the Red Cross and many local churches. See other options here.
